I met Bridget and Jesse a few weeks ago, bright and early at 7:40 am at Jester Park. We had planned to do a sunrise engagement session and the morning could not have been more perfect. It was one of the first frosts of the fall and as I was driving to the park, I passed a golf course – seeing the mist rising from the ponds on the course – I’m pretty sure I let out an audible scream in my car. This session was going to be beautiful!
Bridget, Jesse, and I spent the next hour walking around soaking up the beautiful morning light, capturing their engagement photos, getting to know each other, and collecting cockleburs on our clothes (sorry about that part!). I love getting to use the engagement session as a way to hear a couple’s story and get to know them more, especially since the wedding day is usually a complete blur and goes by so fast. I don’t remember how it came up, but Bridget told me that morning that Jester Park was actually the location of her and Jesse’s first date – so it was definitely a fitting location for their engagement session! After that Sunday morning all I can say is that I think sunrise shoots are my new favorite thing!
Bridget and Jesse, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer! I am so excited for your wedding next summer! Thank you for getting up early to spend the morning in the cold with me and not minding the cockleburs! I think it was definitely worth it 🙂 I hope you think so too after you scroll down through some of my favorites!
One of my absolute favorites!
