I first met Meaghan and TJ in January of 2013 and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since! The day arrived with overcast skies that gave us the best light for photos and when it came time for the ceremony the sun came out. It was the perfect weather for a late summer wedding.
Meaghan and TJ have known each other since they attended the Gingerbread House Preschool, along with a few members of their wedding party. In their ‘older’ years when they began dating, they would often times go out and star gaze, which happens to also be how TJ proposed.
These two included so many meaningful details to their day to honor family members and to make their day unique. Meaghan’s sash and veil were made by TJ’s mom, Rose. She wore her grandmother’s pearls and had her grandfather’s and brother’s dog tags wrapped around her bouquet. Meaghan’s oldest brother passed away in April and as a way to honor and remember him, she took flowers to the Veteran’s Cemetery. It was so incredibly thoughtful and such a great way to include him in she and TJ’s wedding day.
I was so happy to be back at the Barnes’ Place again. I love how secluded of a location it is. I asked Meaghan why they chose the Barnes’ Place for their wedding and she said this, “I grew up on a farm and if it were feasible, I would’ve loved to have gotten married in front of the pond at my grandparent’s house. The Barnes’ Place reminds me a lot of home and it is very comforting to me.”
Meaghan and TJ – Thank you so much for including me and inviting me into your family. I have absolutely loved getting to know you two along the way and enjoyed every minute of capturing your wedding day!
