The Hooleys | Des Moines Family Photographer

As a photographer, I get to meet so many new people along the way. But one of my favorite parts of the job is getting to see past brides and grooms again and again. Documenting a couple’s wedding day and the beginning of their marriage is one of the highest honors and one of the greatest feelings in the world. Having the privilege of photographing them again when they expand their family and start to have children of their own, that is the cherry on top!

I have loved getting to see Heather and Doug become parents to James! It feels like yesterday I was taking his newborn photos and now he is 6 months old and has his parents wrapped around his cute little fingers. My how he has grown! James loves music, specifically James Taylor (He and my mom would get along great 😉 ). So Heather and Doug were singing “Sweet Baby James” throughout the session – making James light up when he heard his song! We ended the night with a few photos of just Heather and Doug, where it all started, and just as happy (if not more) as they were on their wedding day.
