Creme Cupcake + Dessert

Wedding Photography is a pretty seasonal job (especially in Iowa!). So I’ve learned these past few years to enjoy the slow, restful winter season. Usually I spend the colder months recovering from a busy fall, catching up on the business side of things, and chipping away on house projects. I also love spending this time working on projects that stray from my typical subject matter.

My favorite Des Moines bakery is hands down Creme Cupcake + Dessert. For those of you who don’t know, I worked at Creme as one of their decorators for about 1.5 years as I started my business, before finally going full-time in 2014. I absolutely love stopping back and getting to photograph their gorgeous cakes and desserts. This year we got to document the making of their Spanish Coffee, which is set on fire in the process!
